Manoj Bajpai proved 5 times that he is perfect for crime-thrillers

Manoj Bajpai has proved 5 times to be the perfect crime-thriller

Over the years, actor Manoj Bajpai proved his ability as an actor. Be it comedy, drama or action thriller, Manoj has repeatedly given cinephiles a performance that they will cherish forever. While there is no denying that Manoj is one of the most versatile actors in the industry, it would not be wrong to say that the actor has a stronghold on the crime-thriller genre. Now as the actors are gearing up for the release of the new season of the crime-thriller The Family Man, where he reprises his role as Srikanth Tiwari, we take a look at some of Manoj Bajpai’s most influential films.

Satya (1998)

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Satya Tha Manoj Bajpai’s Big Break. Based on the stories of Mumbai’s underworld, the film was well received by critics and audiences. The film was considered one of the most realistic depictions of Indian gangsters and paved the way for future ‘gangster films’ in India. Manoj Bajpai as a gangster stole the show and became the poster boy of gangster films. After all, who is the king of Mumbai, Bhiku Mhatre? This Guns-and-Gangs saga not only introduced the world to Manoj Bajpai’s brilliant acting (and he won the National Award for the same), but also made him a dance icon (remember Sapno has Milti?)

Gangs of Wasseypur (2012)

Gangs of Wasseypur was a dark crime drama starring Manoj Bajpai, Richa Chadha, Reema Sen, Piyush Mishra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, among others. Gangs of Wasseypur was a 2012 cult hit based on the vengeance between the coal mafia of Dhanbad and the three crime families. The ensemble of such talented actors could not diminish the talent of Manoj Bajpai, who stood as Sardar Khan in the film.

  Shootout at Wadala (2013)

Once again wearing a gangster’s cap, Manoj Bajpai replaced Zubair Imtiaz Haq for the shootout of director Sanjay Gupta in Wadala (2013). Manoj as a dangerous Zubair was nothing short of phenomenal in the film and once again proved that when it comes to crime-drama and crime-thriller, no one does it better than him.

Family Man (2019 and 2021)

The one to capture a kingpin from a shift, played the role of Manoj Bajpai, a senior analyst in the family of the original series of Amazon Prime videos in the fictitious Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC). Directed by Raj and DK, Srikanth is seen fighting the terrorists on the field while hiding the true nature of his job from his two children. The entertaining story and power-packed action sequences are elevated by Manoj’s acting which fits the character perfectly. The new season, which will stream from June 4, 2021, will see Srikanth Tiwari fight as a deadly nemesis.

Silence… can you hear it? (2021)

Starring Manoj Bajpai, Prachi Desai and Arjun Mathur, Maun … Can you hear it? Is a thriller film that revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a woman. Manoj played the role of a police inspector, tasked with finding the missing woman. Murder Mystery, currently streaming on Zee 5, will give you a fart and place you on the edge of the seats with its twist and turn. In this film, Manoj Bajpai will be seen as ACP Avinash Verma.

There is no way we can limit Manoj Bajpai’s talent to just five films. So in addition to the aforementioned titles, don’t forget to check out Naam Shabana, Iyari and her other prolific acts in Mrs. Serial Killer and don’t miss the new season of Family Man from June 4, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.
