The prime minister also said health resources in rural areas must be augmented to focus on door to door surveillance and testing. He added a supply plan must be made to guarantee oxygen distribution to rural places.
The spread of this coronavirus in rural India has caused alarm among health experts.
Modi also took note of reports that ventilators were still lying unused in some nations. He ordered an immediate audit of the installation and operation of ventilators offered from the Centre to the nations.
India has been battling a ferocious second wave of this coronavirus, together with hospitals throughout the country struggling with severe shortages of oxygen, beds and health care supplies.
On Saturday, India recorded 3,26,098 new coronavirus instances , requiring the whole count of infections to 2,43,72,907 because the outbreak broke out in January this past year. The country’s toll climbed to 2,66,207 since it registered 3,890 deaths in the past day.
As many as 3,53,299 patients recovered from the disease in the past day, taking the whole number of recoveries in India into 2,04,32,898. The number of active cases in India stood 36,73,802 on Saturday morning, comprising 15.07percent of the total infections.
